“Botanicals” Art Exhibition
I’m honored to share that two new pieces of my work received an Honorable Mention and Special Recognition in the 16th Annual “Botanicals” Online Art Exhibition presented by Light Space & Time Gallery.
This international exhibition invited both 2D and 3D artists to submit their strongest abstract and representational interpretations of botanical subject matter. The response was remarkable: 503 entries were submitted from 15 countries, along with artists from 28 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. To be recognized within such a broad and competitive field is deeply meaningful.
The exhibition was juried across three media categories — Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital, and Three-Dimensional work — along with an overall category highlighting the best entries across all disciplines. In addition to the primary winners, the gallery awarded Special Merit, Special Recognition, and Honorable Mention distinctions to works that stood out for their artistic quality and vision.
All winning and recognized works from the exhibition will be featured on the Light Space & Time Gallery website, where they will remain archived for ongoing public viewing. For the next three months, selected works will also be highlighted on the gallery’s homepage.
My submission was part of the Photography & Digital category and explored botanical subject matter through the lens of gesture, florals and movement. Flowers always guide my photographic practice. However, gesture and movement are new themes that are influencing my current work. To have this work acknowledged alongside so many thoughtful and accomplished interpretations of the natural world is incredibly affirming.
I’m grateful to the jurors at Light Space & Time for this recognition and to the broader community of artists who made this exhibition such a compelling and diverse exploration of botanicals. Moments like this are a reminder of the enduring power of nature as a shared source of inspiration. This body of work also serves as a bridge to an upcoming still life collection currently in development. It’s a continuation of my exploration of florals. The images recognized in this exhibition are part of a larger conversation unfolding in the studio, one that reflects both historical influence and a contemporary point of view. I look forward to sharing more from this next collection very soon. Thank you to everyone who follows, supports, and engages with my work. I’m grateful to bring you along as this work continues to evolve.
